I don't really know Naeem Khan - as an ex-pat in the UK, there are some thing we all know globally and others go under (or over?) our radar. I've heard his name, but I am just such.. fans is too small a word for how I feel about our President and First Lady (campaigning for him here, and the wonderful friends I made as a result, felt like the most important 'work' of my life) and reading this post helps in a more personal way to feel more a part of the heady, exciting, glamorous, life-changing events that are going on now in America. 2nd: Jane. I've as you know only been blogging a relatively short time, but I, too, have come to feel exactly the same way about her. Especially around the time recently when she & her mom were in Tokyo, and some of her fans (the word 'fan' being short for fanatic, btw) started going mental on her for being chosen to design shoes for Urban Outfitters. Oh the envy! It was so sad. People - women - can be so cruel. And she handled it with dignity, and grace: she simply rose above it, and ignored the comments. I also think it's a wise and, and brave in many ways, at a point where she's getting 200 comments a post, to simply switch off that option. It's a strange feeling because commenting, and reading others' comments, is a big part of the 'blogging experience' ; ) But I admire why she's doing it. When I read on her blog that she was going to the ball.. it's an inspired idea, and I think I read that Vogue approached her to do it. It's a lovely tribute to a lovely girl, and I'm sure she'll continue to share the experience with anyone who chooses to follow her blog. And oh: that dress is gorgeous, on the beautiful Michelle. & sorry to go on so long! What a lovely post!
