As the renovation of the house continues, I would love to share with you the final products of our white kitchen that I’m cooking in everyday!! Since we have a tiny space, I want something to open up the space and nothing will completes that but WHITE!!! We picked a few slabs for the countertop, some has more of the dramatic veins than others. The one we picked has the least veins which is perfect for a small kitchen. TIP: we took some samples of the quartz home and get a steak knife and run through it, whichever one least get scratches is the winner. We are so happy with the turn out and we are very happy we picked quartz over marble and granite as quartz is modern, durable, stain resistant, and it reduce the opportunity for the bacteria to grow which is so important for all of us. Out look from the kitchen and the living room is out small garden atrium with plants hanging down and cactus. We love having coffee and breakfast out there each morning!!
We had a renovation at our home this summer and the project is endless. We started out with a small project: we were working on our atrium. By the time we were finished we ended up with a renovation of our living room and kitchen. We got a new floor and redecorated too.
We wanted something really clean and modern. I’m happy with the grey leather sofa. We looked at a tweed sofa and some fabric sectionals and they were all beautiful but with Sage running around and spilling juice all over, leather is the winner. With small kids you have to think about what they will spill and what the wear and tear will be and leather is simply more child resistant compared to the other options we saw.
The big zebra art wall piece is by Loc. Isn’t he handsome? The place is all coming along so well. But I couldn’t have done all this by myself and I’m so fortunate to have my good friend working alongside me and helping out! I’m feeling so blessed to have such a great friend and our new space!
Sometimes you have to take advantage of the warm weather to go outside and other times, warm weather days are perfect for a little introspection and reordering. I originally began a short, four day summer cleanse but it has turned into a full-fledged home renovation project now. We’re in the process of freshening things up in the house and it feels good! We’re repainting all the walls, windows and kitchen cabinets to white. We’re also making some changes in the furniture: upgrading and add some pieces.
These photos definitely inspired me. While browsing the blogesphere for images, I found two great websites for home: desire to inspire and La Dolce Vita. Both sites are amazing for interior design inspiration. Also, I have been obsessed with Cupcakes and Cashmere. The writer, Emily Schuman, has a way of both creating and curating wonderful things. I’m a huge fan of her personal style and I love that her personal style doesn’t just stop at fashion…she creates great interiors and treats. She shares many great recipes on baking and her cupcakes are adorable! Be sure to check her out. Thanks for reading and I hope you all have a wonderful day!! xo Nini
