I hope the New Year brought you all the happiness and everything that you have deserved. As you all know that Loc and I are getting marry soon. I’m working with a brilliant fashion designer based in Dallas to help me with my gown. It’s long sleeves with thumb holes, deep backless with raw edges around the neckline, and all over the back. It’s stunning and I can’t wait to share with you all the final product. Have a beautiful day and I’ll keep you all posted on the wedding project. xoxo Nini Nguyen
Merry Christmas to you all and your family! I got the best gift ever in my life today from an elderly man that I met in Barneys. We had a conversation and he told me that he has a gift for me and he pulled out a ” Jesus Loves You” mini book. He asked me if he can hug me and told me that he’ll never forget about me. There is something that I did that brought a smile to this elderly man for him to said that he’ll never forget me and that was priceless! To me, people you have met in life for a reason even if it’s just for one moment. Treat people as it’s your last day and that good spirit will be carry to next person. xoxo Nini Nguyen

Loc and I went out for our good friend’s birthday party on Saturday. We normally cook at home and have his friends over or we hang out at their house. We decided to go out this time because it’s his best friend’s birthday and we had a wonderful time. Here are some photos of us and I hope you all having a nice day. xoxo Nini Nguyen

Winter time is my least favorite time of the year. The weather is cold and its gets dark so early that you can’t get anything done. I can’t even work on photos taken because by the time I get off work the sun has already come down. I imagine that it must be even worse if you live somewhere really cold and icy like Boston or NYC. Ladies, if your career requires that you dress chicly or if you simply require that of your self, don’t let the yucky weather stop you from dressing up. Think chic AND cozy for the wet, cold weather. Skinny jeans work over-time: layer them with tee-shirts and fur. Layer cashmere dresses with chunky nekclaces and long gloves and wear them short and tight with over the knee boots and scarves. There is so much that you can do for the winter time if you remember to layer.
I don’t like to shop for the winter because we have a really short winter here in Texas. It only gets cold in December and stays cold until February and then the weather returns to normal. I have a few winter items and I work them in with my year round items.
Some of the items that I have invested in over the years and am still using are long leather gloves, a leather jacket, a pair of over the knee boots, a pair of leather booties, a bright colored scarf and a few lightweight cashmere turtlenecks. Those items are classics and I use them every winter.
One of my favorite looks to wear in the winter time is wearing my statement necklaces with my winter wardobe. I feel like if you have on the simplest black cashmere dress with your leggings, throw on your fur, let a statement neckline complete your look and call it a day. It’s so chic, especially when you are all bundled up with your coat hiding inside it all the fabrics like hidden treasures while the only thing anyone can see is your fabulous necklaces. A perfect winter fashion treat! Have a nice weekend to everyone!! xoxo Nini Nguyen

I know that many of you fashionistas out there already know how to wear ankle boots, but I still get a lot of questions from my clients and readers about how to wear ankle boots and what to wear them with.
I love ankle boots and I wear them with everything in my closet. I have worn my YSL and my Givenchy ankle boots a thousand times and am thinking about getting another pair. A shoe that you can wear with every outfit is more important to a wardrobe than a fancy shoe you can only wear with certain outfits.
If you are tall, you can wear ankle boots with everything. For those around 5’1 (give or take a few inches) you have got to be careful about what you wear with ankle boots because they can chop off the bottom of your legs and make you look shorter. When you wear ankle boots with a skirt or dress, go for tights in the same shade as your shoe to elongate your legs.
Ankle boots look great with dresses, skirts, tunics and skinny jeans tucked into the boots. Don’t let your jeans bunch up at the bottom where the pant meets the shoe to avoid looking messy and make sure that your leggings and pants are tucked in to create one long line. Stick to one color for shoe and tights and you are set!
I’m sorry for running behind on photos. Loc has been really with work. My friend, Hunter, helps me with these photos. Thanks Hunter 🙂
