Hello everyone! I’ve been working on producing more pieces and I’m so excited to announce that the Nini Circle Dress is now available in hot pink. This is the dress that I donated to the Art Ball this year at the Dallas Museum of Art. It was an honor to participate in the auction because the cause is so near and dear to my heart. The dress (it included my styling service) raised $3,200 at the auction. I was so happy to able to give back to the community that has been such a large part of my life and my career in many ways. This dress is now available for purchase and takes two weeks from order to delivery. It is absolutely fabulous and I promise you, you will enjoy this dress. Feel free to send me an email if you have any questions nini@ninistyle.com. Happy Sunday everyone! xo Nini
Sage’s pink & white nursery is all ready for her. Loc has been working on it for months and it’s all coming together!! Temporarily, we have the “Princess” sign above her crib, as soon as she arrives, we will replace it with some of her newborn details photos. Can’t wait to meet her and share her with you all!
Hello everyone!
Hope you are all enjoying the onset of the holidays. As soon as Thanksgiving is over, the official Christmas season begins and then before you know it will be 2010…
I just wanted to write a quick entry about some amazing things happening to people I like. First, I got news that one of my favorite bloggers, Jane of SeaOfShoes, is going to be presented at the Crillon Ball in Paris. I couldn’t be happier for her! Jane is a trendsetter: she is never afraid to follow her fashionista instincts, she has great taste and she can handle even the harshest of heels. She has a kind heart and a sweet demeanor. Her fearlessness when it comes to fashion is simple inspiring. When I heard she was being presented, I thought it was amazing. Not only is the Ball the absolute most chic place to be presented but she is being dressed by the masters of chic: the House of CHANEL!!! What a perfect fit. Congratulations Jane, I am so excited for you!
Secondly, one of my favorite designers, Naeem Khan will be on Larry King tonight. He will be a part of a panel discussing the theme for tonight’s State Dinner at the White House. If you like Naeem Khan, catch him on Larry King on Tuesday night talking about this phenomenon.
Just as I was writing about Naeem Khan, a friend called me and told me to Google his name. What I found was so exciting! Michelle Obama wore Naeem Khan to the White House State Dinner tonight! She looked beautiful in a nude gown that was hand embroidered with tiny sterling silver paillettes. I actually saw this embroidery during his Spring 2010 show this year but the silk was in a different color. Also, the gown that I styled Alex Tran in also used the same type of sterling silver paillette mixed with black to replicate snake skin. When you see this fabric close-up and touch it you realize that not only are the paillettes made of sterling silver but they have a weight to them. That weight really makes the difference in the gown Michelle Obama wore tonight: on the one hand, the paillettes are used in an abstract floral pattern as a light-catching ornamentation but on the other hand, the fabric falls beautifully because of the weight they provide. The silk shawl Michelle Obama draped around herself brought yet another light touch of glamour and was both a soft contrast to the sterling silver paillettes and provided the perfect backdrop in terms of color: the dress made her skin look AMAZING. As I mentioned a couple of months ago, I met Naeem during Fall Fashion Week and he was very gracious to me and Hanh. I’m already excited to go to the Naeem Khan Fall 2010!
