Leather & Lace

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Sephora giveaway! Congrats to Mr. Freddy’s Mom! She is the winner of the $50 Sephora gift card.  Please contact me to get the gift card code. Stay tuned because we are doing another giveaway soon!

For me, leather leggings are well worth the investment. I bought my leather leggings last year and have been wearing them quite often since. I’ve even got a pair of black ones on my Christmas wish list! Two of my favorite brands that make beautiful leather leggings with an impeccable fit are The Row and Balenciaga leather goods.

Are you holiday season ready? This time of year you can never have enough outfits for going out, especially with all the holiday parties coming up! You can always count on your leather leggings. It’s a great way to dress up your simple blouse! One of my favorite ways to wear leather leggings is to pair them with an over-sized ivory cashmere turtle neck and sleek Christian Louboutin pumps. It’s cozy & polished! When buying leather leggings be sure they fit you snugly, because leather will stretch a little over time.

Today, I’m wearing a lace blouse with leather. This type of look is great for dinners and holiday parties but it is too dressy for everyday wear! If you want to wear lace for everyday, dress it down. To dress down a lace blouse just add a camisole, black jeans & flat boots or even high-tops!

Back To Black

Fall is here! With the change in weather come changes in staple items in my closet. I found this BCBGMAXAZRIA blazer recently while I was in the Dallas boutique shopping for a client. It reminds so much of one of my favorite items from The Row collection but the cost was only a small fraction of The Row price. Adding a long blazer to your wardrobe is a good idea for this fall but don’t expect to to ditch it at the end of the season. A long blazer is a great classic item that you can keep forever, retire for one or two seasons and then bring back into rotation whenever you are ready.

Long blazers are easy because you can wear them casually with skinny jeans, loose T’s and flats. They are so useful for running around on a busy day and still looking polished! The last thing you want to worry about on a hectic day is your wardrobe and a long blazer is a dependable option. I also love to dress a long blazer up by wearing it as a dress, adding a belt and killer shoes and presto: fantastic for an evening out or holiday party that you have coming up.

I love classic, functional pieces that you can wear many different ways and this is a great example. It’s also available in hot pink, but in my opinion the black one is more chic. Do you agree?

Sparkles

I bought these Miu Miu bloomers at the NYC boutique during Fashion Week and I have to say that this pair is a staple in my closet. Someone else might look at them and think they are a  trendy item. But for a girl like me who loves bloomers, they are a timeless, classic item.  You can wear them during any season by adding or removing tights and best of all, they are playful!

I have worn this pair of bloomers out before and I usually keep the look tonal. But today, instead of keeping it minimal, I went in a different direction by mixing it up with a brightly colored leopard blouse. Mixing prints is fun because you get to play with shape, texture, color and proportion. But you have to do it right because it can break your body up into awkward sections. If you aren’t careful, this result in unintentionally added bulk and make you look like a cloud walking around.

My tip for you is put on the shoes that make you feel the sexiest to balance out the look. All women want to look fashionable & feel sexy at the same time and my philosophy is that no matter what you wear, confidence is everything. You have to feel good in what what you’re wearing in order to rock it. And you have to be confident if you want to be your best. If I FEEL good in something, I never doubt what I put on my body when I walk out the door. Some people will love it and some might hate it but as long as you feel good, that’s all that counts.

I have been wearing BETTER… DE DESIGNER by O.P.I nails polish and really love it. What color are you wearing right now?

Breathe Life Into Something Old

Sometimes you find a vintage item that you fall in love with, even if it isn’t totally your size. I found these vintage YSL sateen shorts a while back but the fit was a little off in places. The length was 3 inches above my knee which not a flattering length on anyone and the waist was too loose. I love vintage YSL and I knew that I could take the shorts to my tailor to give them a new life. I had 6 inches cropped off and had them nipped in the waist. I’m really happy with the result.

That’s another thing to keep in mind when you are out shopping for vintage. Wrong fitting clothes will always age you and your look. If you find your favorite vintage piece and it doesn’t fit right, don’t hesitate to take it to your tailor and have it trimmed down to make it fit you better. The beauty of vintage is that the low purchase price allows for extra tailoring costs and the tailored piece will be well worth it! Nothing flatters a body better than custom tailored clothing.

I want to thank everyone for your support on the clothing line. With all your love & support the black & white circle dresses are completely sold out. I’ll be offering it in another color. Have a lovely day!
