Somewhere In Time

October 2nd, 2009

Hi everyone –
I hope you all are well. It has been days without blogging! I have been living without turning on my computer, taking photos, or visiting and commenting on other blogs. It actually felt great, not that I am not missing you guys!!!  I was finally able to do other things besides blogging. Loc and I were able to sit and enjoy our dinner without rushing to finish so we can be on time for photos before the sun goes down. We watched our favorite TV show together, played my favorite games and had some quality time together. Blogging is so much fun but it takes commitment, passion and a LOT of time.

I have all these things, but lately I’m afraid that I don’t have enough time to keep updating my blog as often as I would like to. I’m really proud of myself and happy to let you all know that I’m back to my normal routine. I’m now back with the Bentley Senior Home twice a week. I think it is so important to help the community and that’s something I am really passionate about. Giving back to your community can make you just as happy as enjoying the fashion world! I’m young with a job and no kids and I need to take advantage of my down time to do things that are meaningful. I hope that I still have your support and all the love that you gave me. I thank you for taking time to visit my blog and I hope you all  get what you wish for in life. Xoxoxo Nini

Congrats to Pret a Porter P for being the winner of the 5000 comments~

Hey Nini! These pics look great, like they’re from a magazine! The styling is great. I totally agree about the taking a break from blogging and giving back to the community, the fashion world is nice but everyone needs a break every so often lol. I saw the link to this post on your twitter, you should follow me on there! 😉 Have a great weekend!

    hi nini!
i kept coming your blog to check out if you have a new post.
thanks! finally, you have a new post!
    i missed you so much!
same here. there are times i’m away from my computer
and internet which is so good.
i can spend quality time for my family and a time to reflect of
    what i’ve been doing lately.
but, i can’t resist myself not to blog since blogging is my past time
and it’s nice to meet new friends and exchange insights.

nini- you look so fabulous and what a sexy back you have!
i went thrifting today and i saw a pleated wide leg pants but i didn’t buy it.
huh! now, i regret it. i should buy it.
hmm…i hope its still there when i go back there.
    have a good night!

    Wait, there’s a life offline?

  7. October 2nd, 2009 at 23:17 | #7

    Welcome back Ni!!!miss your post!!

We’re all busy with our life. It helps a lot if we manage our time right for our daily activities, especially someone like me-being a wife and a mom that’s busy with kid’s schedules and a chef of the house. That’s great that you enjoyed your break-time, did your things, gave Loc a company and give back for community.

Love love your fur and the top.

    Lovely pics as always.
    xoxo…Hanh,

Hello again Nini, it’s great to see you back with another post and you look gorgeous as always. Glad to hear that you are back into your preferred routine…even though if that means taking time away from blogging. After all, your blog is not for anyone else but yourself!

  11. October 3rd, 2009 at 03:08 | #11

Hi Nini, Taking time for yourself and your family is so important, so no need to appologise. This outfit is so very elegant! We have been debating on my blog about wide leg trousers, you suit them very much! The top is very striking too, as it looks very simple from the front and then the back is breathtaking!!

Wooooow So you’re (delightfully) “cyber back”, AND your (almost) bare back Here tend to give us a new (sensuous) evidence that this kind of cleavage (truly) can be more sulfurous than a “classical One”, just like a GLAMorous gift under the fur . . . that the “total black look” highly emphasizes !!!

and welcome back! Missed your posts 😉

Black is beautiful and so are you!
Did you see the new MM collection from yesterday?
I´m head over heels in love with these Balenciaga booties… Could buy them all!;)

So glad yo had a nice break from everything, it’s always good to do that once in and while, but it’s very exciting to have you back again! First off, I can’t believe those pants are forever 21!! I have a pair from Alexander Wang that look just like them (luckily I only paid sample sale price) You look very elegant though in the fur, I’ve been on the hunt for a vintage fur, I hope I can find something that looks as good as yours!! xx

  18. October 3rd, 2009 at 08:32 | #18

Hi Nini! You look so beautiful! Very classic, timeless and chic. I LOVE that clutch so much, what a gorgeous little item.
    Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

P.S. I totally understand what you are saying about blogging. It does take time and sometimes it’s nice not to blog for a few days. Afterall, it’s the quality and not the quantity that counts.

  19. October 3rd, 2009 at 09:52 | #19

    My dearest Nini,

I am sooo glad you are back and to stay and stronger that ever! loving the way you look with that Margiela top! OMG, did u see the collection? Absolutely fab! Loving Margiela, Balenciaga, Owens, and Lanvin thus far. I know how hard it is to still dedicate time to your loved ones and the things you love to do when you have a blog that requires so much time and dedication. But you are absolutely doing an amazing job.

    Have a great weekend gorgeous!

Hi Nini! I love the outfit. You look amazing as always!
I agree with you about being committed to blogging. There are times when I am totally uninspired to blog, and I’m not nearly as busy as you are! I love that you keep your blog current, and might I say, it’s very inspirational. Sometimes you DO need to take a break from it though. Glad you were able to spend quality time with LOC, and enjoy those special moments without worrying about the internet. Take your time blogging. We’re not going anywhere! Love ya!

i’m so happy that you put something different and very Nini – the sexy MMM top and bell-bottom pants! You do really impress me because in HK or most of the girls in Asian snaps are still wearing tees/basic top with skinny jeans…

    and ofcz, welcome back!

have a nice weekend, Patrick :)

    Nini,

Such a fabulous outfit and don’t feel bad for not being able to update on time. Blogging should be about life, life should not be about blogging. I’m very happy that you are doing what you love as we all should take the time to do just that. Your post is exactly what my blog (barely updated in a reasonable amount of time) is about, taking time to enjoy the Joie de Vivre. Have a good one =D

I couldn’t agree more, blogging can be so time-consuming, it’s important to take some time out for ‘real life’ and I’m glad you’ve found that time! Will miss seeing your beautiful photos in the meantime though!

    Hi Nini

I totally agree with you– giving back to the community is so fulfilling and that reminds me– I have to really put myself out there again and do volunteer work. How inspiring!

Love your Margiela top and the vintage fur. Speaking of vintage fur, I found one at a consignment shop this weekend and am kicking myself for not buying it. It was a fluffy vest. Grrr.

Have a wonderful week… I’ve been a bit offline these days, too. I need to take a break and enjoy life instead of being tied to the computer all day!

    xx D

  50. October 6th, 2009 at 05:57 | #50

    Hi Nini,
That’s funny because I’m home today, my first little cold/bug of the season which I’m trying to nip in the bud, & was just thinking that I hadn’t heard from you & thought I’d pay you a visit!

I so agree, first that doing a blog does take commitment and time & passion, and I also feel it’s important to take a break once in a while and make sure that we’re focusing on the other, very important things in life. You are such a lovely, lovely person – not just beautiful on the surface, but a truly kind being, which was clear to me from the moment you replied to my first email. And your work with the senior home has reminded me to contact my dear friend and neighbour, Dennis, a scientist who is widowed and in his late 80s. It is so important to keep these wonderful elderly people part of our lives, and not just relatives. I have several close older friends, one in her late 90s and a brilliant English mentor.

Sorry to go on so long! Oh, and I love your outfit. I agree with others: this is perhaps your best look ever! That trouser shape is stunning & I love fur right now. So wish I could do a fashion shoot with you!

    xoxo

  51. October 6th, 2009 at 07:53 | #51

Thanks for the update, Nini. I’m glad to hear you have a good routine going for you and you’re focusing more on life. Blogging definitely takes up a lot of time, so it’s good to balance your life and find time for other things that are important. – Lovely outfit! I always love seeing you in black. I have to ask, what lens does Loc use? Hope your week is off to a good start.

    All the best,
    Carrie
