My Incredible Journey!

February 4th, 2010

We all have our own journals of our lives with what we do everyday. I’m about to walk into a big journal of mine. I mentioned on my previous post that I’m going back to my country for a visit. I’m super excited and anxious at the same time. The last time I was there was 13 years ago, and this is my first time back to visit my family, friends, and, most importantly, to experience something that’s very close to me in my heart, yet very far away from me. I remember my past life there and my family and friends, yet I have not seen any photographs of any of these since I left 13 years ago, so everything is just in my memory. I can’t wait to see everything and everybody again. I’m sure everything has changed since the last time I was there.

I’m planning to take lots of photos on my journey.

I feel like you all,as my readers, are very close to me, as well, and I would like to stay connected with you while I’m there. I will be updating my blog while I’m in Vietnam so check back with me to see what’s going on with me in Vietnam. I need to get some sleep now for an early fly tomorrow. Have a beautiful day to you all! xoxo Nini Nguyen

    Hey darling,
I can imagine a little bit how you feel about visiting Vietnam, old places, family, friends… I didn’t grow up in Greece but a huge part of my father’s family was/is living there. Grand-parents, uncles, aunts, cousins. It always felt great to visit – and weird in another way. Like two hearts would beat in your chest. In a way familiar, in the other way strange…
I hope you’ll enjoy your trip a lot and a wonderful time with your family and friends….!!!

    Hi Nini,

I know exactly what you feel like. I haven’t been back in my home country for 8 years now and just like you, I would love to visit it but at the same time the thought always creates a light anxiety, a feeling of unexpected…
Wishing you a wonderful trip and am sure you will enjoy this journey and have an amazing time!

    Hey Nini!

Wow 13 years is a lot… I’m sure everything has changed including you… So have a really nice time with your family, friends. I hope they are proud of you as much as you are of them. Well I don’t know why I felt a little bit of bitterness in your excitement. Anyway, I hope you’ll enjoy every second of your visit!

    XOXO

Hi Nini, welcome back! I came across your blog & love your style. Hope you have a great trip back home. My brother also just took his wife & two kids back to Vietnam from Sanjose. We had a great time in Saigon & Mui Ne. Drop me a line if you want to ask about place to eat/ shop in Saigon.

    Warmest regards,

What a beautiful post, and a perfect photo you chose to illustrate it.

It’s strange to think: you popped into my head, and then I came and read this. You wrote it two days ago, so maybe you’re travelling, or maybe you’re already there: home.

You are such a beautiful person, Nini, in every way, i.e. possessed of a generous heart. I’m looking forward to seeing Vietnam, through your eyes. And longing to go there someday.

Safe travels: we’re all with you in spirit! xoxo
