Frenchman’s Cove

April 4th, 2017 1 comment

Frenchman’s Cove is one of the prettiest beaches in the world. It is a special place for many reasons but what I like the most about it is that Frenchman’s Cove is where fresh water and sea water meet.

It feels like a secret place surrounded by lush, green ivy hanging down on every side of you and even swings so you can dangle your feet in the water!

There are two life guards on the beach so it’s super safe. It doesn’t feel like a tourist attraction and no one is there trying to sell you anything! We spent a whole day here just eating and drinking coconut juice. The entrance fee to get in is $10 per person and it is free for kids.

My tips for enjoying Frenchman’s Cove: bring your own beach towels and beach mat. Also bring your own water and some snacks. Don’t forget your sunscreen!

PACKING LIGHT, WHAT TO BRING TO MEXICO

March 31st, 2016 4 comments

There isn’t much more I love than a good jumpsuits for my summer getaway. They don’t take up much space in your luggage, you can wear them with flats for daytimes and add on espadrilles for nighttime. When I travel, I’m all about packing light.  I always look for versatile items that can do the mix and match magic and cotton is my go to. Cotton feels wonderful next to your skin and breaths better in the hot climate.  I only pack a few silk items for nicer dinner, they’re too fragile, and only look good when you steam it out nicely.

Tulum is extremely casual, the entire trip I didn’t wear make up and have on flats, I brought a pairs of wedges with me and wore it once. Here is a little idea of what to pack for 7 days in Tulum. Life on the beach is causal, most of the time you will be in your swimsuits and a little cute cover up. Everyone dressed really neat and chic in Tulum! Get your gears ready.

2 rompers can wear both day and night

2 dresses

2 sarongs for swimsuits coverup

2 kaftans for swimsuits coverup

2  tee shirts

2 cute tops that can be worn with shorts or pants at night

3 shorts, 1 linen long pants

7 swimsuits

3 pajamas sets.

1 beach bag for day time and one for night time.

1 straw hat. The one I have is vintage boater hat and I LOVE IT. You can find them on Etsy.

1 cotton scarf or lightweight sweater  to wear over your shoulder if you have dinner on the beach, the ocean breeze can be chilly at night.

for shoes: 1 flip flops for the beach, 1 nicer slides for dinner, 1 tennis shoes for going to the ruins, and 1 wedges for night time

for jewelries: I wear my two small gold necklaces all day, great for the beach and looks beautiful at night, and a few layering rings.

3 sunglasses, it always change up your look with different sunnies and they don’t take up much space.

Kaan Luum Lagoon, Tulum

March 30th, 2016 1 comment

It was our first time in Tulum, Mexico for Loc’s Birthday and we are in love with the rawest of this town. We dipped into this beautiful lagoon with turquoise green water, shallow all around with a deep sink hole for diving in the middle. The lagoon is 10mins by car from Tulum town. We loved it so much that we made another trip back for baby Sage to play and having a little picnic with tropical fruits and coconuts water. It’s hidden, be sure to ask your concierge for direction before you head out. And don’t forget your sunscreen.

Wearing: She Made Me crochet swimsuits, Warby Parker sunnies, and vintage boater hat that I found on Easy.

15 WEEKS

January 21st, 2014 9 comments

I’m 15 weeks and a few days this week!  I can only fit in half of my clothes in my closet at the moment.   I can’t fit in any of my shorts, fitted blouses or dresses that can’t be stretch, and of course and my blue jeans. I just ordered a pair of Citizen of Humanity maternity black jeans off Shopbop and can’t wait for it to arrive.

I’m feeling great this week. I try to do yoga, light weight exercise, 5 lbs max and walk 3-4 times a week to be healthy for me and the baby.  I blend green smoothies every morning, eating whole grain, lean protein and lots of fruits and vegetables.

Wearing: Dolce&Gabanna blouse, Bird leather leggings ( similar ), Dior sunnies, Prada pumps and necklace from Paris flea market.

Vintage Chanel

Scored this fabulous vintage Chanel jacket at WasteLand in LA. I was so lucky because I paid under $150 for it. Definitely a deal of a lifetime. Wore this outfit out to a boutique opening last night.

Wearing: Yves Saint Laurent corset, Zara skirt, Wolford tights, vintage Chanel jacket, vintage 1920’s green velvet bag, Stella McCartney pumps, booties version
