    This was really interesting to read, prior to this I knew nothing about you except that you’re capable of pulling off pieces not many other people could pull off as well. Btw., the link you posted should have www in front of it, if you click on it now it leads you onto a non-existent website. : )

    Hi Nini!
    So nice to read more about you!!!!!!!!
    May I ask as I wonder and do not know: As a Fashion Consultant… are you allowed to wear everything you wish to wear or is there also a kind of dress code from Barneys?

    Enjoy your day and have a joyful and sunny week ahead!!!
    Beautiful Blessings to you…

  30. August 4th, 2009 at 21:55 | #30

    Hi Nini, interesting interview! I was wondering what type of education you needed in order to get into the fashion consulting industry? What about work experience? Thanks a bunch in advance!

  32. August 4th, 2009 at 22:43 | #32

    @Carmela
    Hi Carmela,

    You really don’t need a formal education to be fashion consultant. Though, I did study fashion design for 2 years, not sure if that makes a difference or not when they decided to hire me. I believe that is mostly decided on experience, as I started at an early age.

  33. August 4th, 2009 at 22:47 | #33

    @The Little Fashion Treasury
    Hi Martina,

    There is no dress code from Barney’s. Barneys is a fun and creative company to work for. I can wear anything that I want to show my personal taste.
    Have a lovely day !!
    xoxo

    Hi Nini,
    Fantastic interview & congratulations! They did such a nice spread on you. Even though I knew you worked at Barneys, I think every fashionista envy’s your *dream* job. Does it even feel like work when you’re there? Probably not because I know you are loving what you do. :-)

    Hi again Nini! Thanks so much for responding to my question. What sort of experience did you then have that helped you get into fashion consultation at Barneys? Wondering because I would really like to get into it myself!

  48. August 5th, 2009 at 22:17 | #48

    hi nini!
    huh! i’m so late to comment here.
    i’m always tied up with mr. freddy.

    anyway, i love reading your answers
    and i clearly understood already that you’re a fashion stylist.
    woohh! wish i wanna be a fashion stylist too!
    but, don’t know how to start it.

    good night and please say my Hi to Loc.

    @Carmela
    Hi Carmela,

    I started in sales part time when I was 15 years old at Banana Repulic and continued with a fabulous training at Neiman Marcus and Oscar de la Renta before I stared my career at Barneys New York. My fashion taste had change in the last few years but what have not change is my passion for clothing. I believe that when you have passion for anything you like to do you will achieve it as long as you give it time.

    Wow, this is a great interview. I really enjoyed reading about “a day in a life with Nini.” It’s so cool to read about what you do and it sounds like a lot of fun.

    You really live an interesting life, Nini. You’re a working woman, who still has time for your boyfriend, your family, blogging, and other interest in your life. It’s really amazing how you manage everything and keep a balance lifestyle.
