VINTAGE CHANEL SKIRT

September 17th, 2012 14 comments

I have been collecting vintage clothing and accessories for quite a few years now and this vintage Chanel skirt is one of my great eBay finds. eBay is a good source for all kinds of things at competitive prices. You just need to know your favorite labels when you’re shopping on eBay. When I go on eBay.com I always type in the same key words in the search box. Some of my favorite items to search for are: vintage YSL, vintage Chanel, vintage leather skirts, vintage Christian Lacroix, etc… When you find something you like be sure to look at seller’s feedback. Once you’ve made sure they have positive feedback you can go for it.

Recently, I purchased a fabulous mid-century modern lucite tray from eBay for $20.00. I typed in ‘mid century modern lucite tray.’ Try it and you will see all kind of goodies will pop up. Have fun shopping. xo Nini

{ CASUAL DINNER } JEANS + PEPLUM TOP

August 24th, 2012 20 comments

This is what I wore out to a casual dinner with Loc to celebrated our 2 years wedding anniversary. I didn’t always love wearing jeans but with all of your kind comments and encouragement I’ve been wearing jeans more and more often. Over the past couple of years, designers have been producing them in softer materials, adding more stretch and they just don’t feel as harsh on the skin anymore. I love that you always can throw on a pair of jeans, a fun blouse and then easily complete the look with some fabulous pumps. Have a fabulous weekend everyone! xo Nini

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all doing well. This week has been chaotic because we’re so busy with our home improvement project. We’re in the process of redecorating the house, putting flowers in my atrium and into the back yard. I feel like I’m constantly running back and forth between Home Depot and home. But on the bright side, the project is coming together really well and I can’t wait to share photos when it is all finished.

Since I’ve been so busy, I’ve been keeping it basic in terms of outfits. I’m wearing my all time favorite black skinny jeans. I love them because they’ve got the perfect amount of stretch but also have enough structure to create a great shape. And they hold up pretty well against wear-and-tear so I can rely on them during my busy times. This is the ‘it’ jean that I suggest to all my clients. It’s just a great basic to have so I’m always stocked up with a few pairs. Enjoy your Sunday and thanks for reading my blog :-) xoxo Nini

WHITE ON WHITE

While shopping for furniture I couldn’t help but make a quick stop at American Apparel. The last thing I purchased at American Apparel was a T shirt and that was years ago. Walking into the store this time around, I was pleasantly surprised by how different the selection was compared to my last visit. I was happy to find that they are improving on quality and selling more wearable items. I picked up this white poplin shirt and white high-waisted denim skirt along with some other things that I’ll share soon on the blog.

One of my beautiful clients gave me a bottle of Cornflower by Frederic Malle for my birthday and I have been using it non-stop. I’ve been getting tons of compliments about it! I’m not a perfume type of girl but I’m really enjoying this scent. It’s just very fresh. Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day! xo Nini

PRINTS ON PRINTS

July 16th, 2012 22 comments

Wearing two floral prints or a floral print over another, different print can be a little tricky. When I’m mixing these prints together, I try to concentrate on proportions. If the proportion is off, it can cut your body at an odd angle.

I love this trend because it’s festive and a great way to challenge yourself creatively. For someone who is new to wearing prints, you always can start out with a floral top paired with a pair of solid colored or denim skinny jeans, a fabulous clutch and heels for a lunch or dinner date. When you feel more comfortable with prints, try a print-on-print outfit.

To me, no outfit can be complete without a positive attitude and a strong sense of confidence. If you think you look great, you will look great. I can only give you the advice that works for me: if you don’t feel great in what you are wearing then change into something that you’ll feel more comfortable in! Fashion is all about being comfortable in your own skin and using clothes to express yourself. I always try to remember to wear my clothes and never let them wear me. Have a great Monday filled with sunshine everyone!! xo Nini
